Blue Cross may have money for you
Why?
A class action was brought against Blue Cross stating violation of anti-trust laws. Class Members who submit valid claims may receive a cash payment from the Net Settlement Fund. The Net Settlement Fund is estimated to be approximately $1.9 billion. This is after deducting attorneys’ fees, administration expenses and other costs from the $2.67 billion Settlement Fund. For more details on the Plan of Distribution, read the Long Form Notice available at www.BCBSsettlement.com
Who’s eligible?
If you were covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield individual or group health insurance or administrative services plans between February 2008 and October 2020, you may be a Class Member.
Medicare Advantage policies are not within the scope of products included in the Settlement classes. However, Medicare Supplemental policies are within the scope of products included in the Settlement classes, so long as they meet the other criteria (e.g., dates of coverage).
How do you get your money?
Letters, post cards and emails have been going out to those eligible for settlement money with instructions on how to make a claim.
You must submit a valid claim online at www.BCBSsettlement.com or postmarked by mail no later than November 5, 2021.
Claim Forms are also available at www.BCBSsettlement.com or may be requested by calling (888) 681-1142.
If you do nothing, you will remain a member of the Settlement Classes and be bound by the Settlement. However, if you had been entitled to share in the Settlement proceeds, you will not get a payment.
